We observe the same rules as standard high school basketball except for the following differences:
20 minute running clock each half
Clocks stops every 5 minutes for substitutions
Observe clock stoppages as used in standard high school games in the last two minutes of each half
No timed shot clock, but no blatant attempts to run the clock down are allowed (per referee's perception)
Knockdown rule - "if you knock an opponent down, pick them up"
Players ages 14 to 16 who are enrolled in high school are eligible to play, with exceptions of up to 2 players who may be up to 18 (but these older players should be picked based on character rather than talent)
Every player on a team must appear in each half. If a player is "benched" for disciplinary or other reasons, inform the other coach before the game
Home team provides referees. Two referees are encouraged, including at least one certified ref, but neither of these is required. Do the best you can based on the available resources and personnel _________________ -- chris |
